Farm Stand Staff Member

Tangerini's Farm is committed to providing the highest quality produce, local products, and exceptional customer service. Our fast-paced farm stand is open from May 1 until Thanksgiving, seven days a week, 9am-7pm. We are seeking highly motivated individuals with retail experience and an artistic sense of display to stock, and care for the farm stand in an efficient manner. As a farm stand employee, you will work among a positive, highly motivated team.

Responsibilities include:

• Sensibly and appropriately use point of sale system/cash register, while bagging customers' purchases.

• Keeping fresh produce displayed, stocked and accurately labeled

• Consistent monitoring of produce quality, appropriately discarding any product not at its highest quality

• Creating and implementing displays with the latest produce and products following FIFO (first in first out) method

• Staffing UPick fields and CSA as needed

• Taking food orders, making coffee and other drinks

• Receiving and appropriately putting away orders & produce using FIFO (first in first out) method

• Maintaining cleanliness of stand and overall stand organization throughout the work shift

• Friendly and effective customer service including helping customers with purchases and questions about plants, produce and farm shares

• Thoroughly and completely following an opening/closing checklist that fulfill’s Tangerini’s standards

• Working within a high performing team in a fast-paced environment

• Reading all information communicated through Homebase app, following scheduling posted on Homebase

Qualified applicants would have:

• At least 16 years of age

• Reliable transportation to work

• Ability to work efficiently based on priorities, willingness to take direction initiative, and constructive criticism

• Dedication to assigned work shifts, balancing outside personal matters with work

• Proactive, honest and constructive communication about work-related information

• Ability to self-motivate and follow a list - ability to work independently and follow detailed work instructions

• Ability to lift 50lbs repeatedly and easily, and to hustle through a physically busy day

• Experience in customer service and retail

• Reliability and punctuality

• Proficiency with computers and POS registers a plus

• Familiarity with produce and plants a plus

• Passion for local food and a willingness to share your passion

• Take pride in his/her work

Compensation starts at $15.00/hour. All employees get a 25% discount on all items we sell. All new employees will come to the farm on a two-week trial basis. Good workers will find themselves in good company.
